The main purpose of medical schools is to train and equip physicians, clinical and scientific staff and medical researchers to deal with present and future health needs across the globe. The primary mission of the College of Medicine & Health Sciences (CMHS) at the United Arab Emirates University (UAEU) is to achieve this by educating physicians and preparing them for advanced training in every field of medicine. In addition, CMHS offers opportunities for scientists to work in a research-intensive environment, and to acquire Master’s and Doctoral level qualifications in the medical field. CMHS activities include undergraduate and postgraduate education, continuing medical education, continuing professional development, research and the delivery and enhancement of health promotion and medical services. The college is located in close proximity to the main university campus at the Tawam Medical Campus, adjacent to Tawam Hospital. It offers state-of-the-art facilities and excellent support services. CMHS undergraduate and postgraduate degrees are recognized and accepted by institutions in many countries, including the US Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates, American, Canadian and European universities and the Royal Colleges of Medicine. We have developed strong partnerships with several overseas universities, including the University of Oxford, Harvard University, Loma Linda University and the Japan National University, amongst many others.

Prof. Dennis Templeton Dean, College of Medicine and Health Sciences
