WHY YOU S H O U L D AT T E N D

CLEMENS KLINKE Member of the Management Board of DEKRA SE and responsible for the Automotive business unit

DEKRA has been championing safety for 90 years now. When the Deutscher Kraftfahrzeugs-Überwachungsverein (German Motor Vehicle Monitoring Association) was founded in Berlin in 1925, the focus was placed firmly on the safety of commercially used vehicles: The founding idea can be traced back to the need to monitor the fleets of the member companies. Set out from the very start in the founding statutes, the purpose of the assocation was to support and promote the operating and road safety of motor vehicles. 90 years later, DEKRA has become one of the world’s leading expert organisations operating in more than 50 countries on all five continents. Although our safety remit has also broadened, the safety of commercial vehicles will continue to remain a core interest in the future for our approximately 23,000 member companies, predominantly from the transport sector. The Commercial Vehicle Outlook Conference 2015, which we are staging for the first time this year, combines the previously biannual DEKRA symposiums on commercial vehicle safety and the DEKRA/VDI symposiums on cargo securing as well as the lastauto omnibus outlook conference. It enables us to create a high calibre central platform for an exchange of information for all those involved with commerical vehicles, their safety and their future sustainablity. We can expect extremely interesting contributions from manufacturers and suppliers, representatives from the transport sector, politicians and scientists. We would be delighted to see you in Berlin on 6th and 7th October.
